Police Looking For Semi Driver Who Hit Man In Goshen

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO):  Indiana Conservation Officers are trying to find a semi involved in an accident.

36 year old Marty Clawson was pushing an ATV at the intersection of Lafayette and Main Street in Goshen around 9:25 p.m. Friday night.  Clawson says a semi traveling around 30mph southbound on Main Street was close to the edge of the road when their side rear section the trailer hit his ATV, throwing Clawson against the semi.  The semi did not stop and Clawson sustained serious back injuries.

A passerby found Clawson lying in the road and called 911. Clawson was taken to IU Goshen Hospital and was treated for nine fractured vertebrae.

Police are asking for assistance in identifying the semi involved.  It's described as a 1990's, dark Peterbilt sleeper cab with multiple amber marker lights pulling a light colored box trailer.  Officer Tyler Brock says the driver may not have known the accident happened and is not considered a suspect for any criminal charges at this time.  Anyone with information on the accident is urged to call the Goshen City Police or the Indiana Conservation Officers dispatch center at 812-837-9536.

The semi was seen on surveillance footage at a nearby 7-Eleven shortly after the accident.  You can see the photo following this story.
