Police looking for information in early Sunday morning shooting

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Around 2:30 a.m. early Sunday morning, the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to reports of a man shot around thh 1100 block of Maxine Drive.  Before arriving, dispatch was notified that the victim, an adult male, was driven to the hospital by a bystander and was later reported to be in critical condition.

Upon arrival at the scene, police were told there was a social gathering at a nearby house when gunshots erupted resulting to the man being shot.  There were no other injuries reported.  Detectives are unaware of what led to the gunfire.  Crime scene investigators are police are currently processing the scene and looking for and collecting evidence.

Detectives plan on interviewing the victim as soon as they are able to.  There is no information on any suspects at this time and nobody has been taken into custody.  The Fort Wayne Police Department asks that if you have any information to please contact police.  This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecutors Office.
