Police Launch Enforcement Campaign

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): More than 250 law enforcement agencies around the state are working to make Indiana's roadways safer.

It's called the Safe Family Travel campaign and it starts Friday running through December 1. Police will be conducting high visibility activity including sobriety check points and saturation patrols seeking impaired and unrestrained drivers.

Research shows alcohol contributed to 150 traffic fatalities last year and more than 21 hundred injuries.

You are reminded: 

*If you are planning to travel make sure you are well rested, a fatigued driver is a dangerous driver
*Avoid tailgating; remember the two-second rule
*Make sure everyone is buckled up
*Put down the electronic devices and drive
*DON’T DRINK AND DRIVE
*MOVE OVER< SLOW DOWN for emergency and highway service vehicles
