Police Investigate Robberies at Fort Wayne Pharmacies

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Police are investigating two robberies that occurred over the last few days around Fort Wayne.

Once of those robberies occurred on Sunday at the Kroger Pharmacy at Coventry.

According to police reports, a male with a white surgical mask and stocking cap went to the pharmacy counter and said he was armed. He then proceeded to give the pharmacist a note that demanded medicines such as Opana, Fentanyl and Suboxone.

The pharmacist proceeded to fill the medicines and gave him a few boxes of pills. The suspect ran out the door and another employee was able to chase him around the building, but lost the suspect.

The suspect is reported as wearing a red sweatshirt and jeans, maybe with red hair.

The robbery may be connected to another pharmacy robbery that happened on Friday afternoon at the Walgreens on the 10400 block of Coldwater Road.

Around 3 p.m. an individual went into the pharmacy with a yellow mask and demanded medicine. The suspect said he was armed and passed a note to the pharmacist. He was wearing a green beanie and a red hoodie that may have said “O'Neil” on the front

Police are looking at surveillance tapes of both instances and trying to the determine suspects.
