Police: Indiana Man Killed in Murder Plot Pleaded with Wife

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – Authorities say a slain Indianapolis-area man begged his wife not to let two men kill him after they lured him out of his home by saying the woman was in danger.

Indianapolis police say Opal Williams conspired with her boyfriend, Ricky King, and her cousin, Charles Lehman, in the March 10 slaying. All three are charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder.

Court documents say King and Lehman drove Steven Williams of Greenwood to a location in Indianapolis. Police say the suspects then let Williams call his wife and make one final plea to spare his life, but she instructed Lehman to kill him.

Messages seeking comment were left with Williams and Lehman's attorneys early Thursday. It wasn't immediately known if King has an attorney.

Court records say all three have admitted their roles in the killing.
