Police cite gang violence in deaths of two Goshen men

GOSHEN, Ind. (AP): Investigators say gang-related violence led to the deaths of two men found fatally shot at a mobile home park in northern Indiana.

Prosecutors Tuesday filed two formal counts of murder against both 22-year-old Diego Ramos of Elkhart and 19-year-old Luis Rivas of Goshen.

Police say both men have denied being involved in a gang.

The men are charged in connection with the deaths of 27-year-old Jose Nava-Orozco and 43-year-old Marco Carmona-Gonzalez. They were found dead at a home in Goshen on March 13. Both died of multiple gunshot wounds.

Ramos and Rivas are being held without bond in the Elkhart County Jail. Court records show neither has an attorney. Their initial hearing is set for Thursday morning in Elkhart Circuit Court.
