Police: Boy Seriously Hurt After Dog Bites Him in Evansville

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) _ Police say a 3-year-old boy is seriously hurt after he was bitten by a dog in Evansville.
 
The Evansville Police Department said in a news release that officers responded to a call about a child being bitten by a dog around 7:40 p.m. Wednesday. The department said an officer saw a boy being held by a teenager who was later identified as his baby sitter.
 
According to police, the boy had a large cut from his jaw to near his right ear, and his lower right arm appeared to be broken. He was taken to an area hospital.
 
Evansville Animal Control took custody of the dog.
