Police: Body found in St. Joseph River may be missing person…

MISHAWAKA, Ind. (AP) _ Police say a body found floating near a hydroelectric dam in northern Indiana may be that of a person reported missing last year.

The Indiana Department of Natural Resources says workers were doing a routine dam inspection Wednesday afternoon when they saw the body in the St. Joseph River in Mishawaka. The St. Joseph County sheriff says identification found on the body may tie it to a missing person case from Mishawaka.

The sheriff says authorities had not identified the body Wednesday. He says the body appeared to be in the river “for some time'' and didn't have visible injuries.

The bodies of two missing people from South Bend were found in the river last week.
