Police: 63-year-old Gary Man found Shot Dead in Home

GARY, Ind. (AP) – Police in Gary say a man was shot to death in his home.

The Lake County coroner's office says 63-year-old Edwin Deloney suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Police say officers found Deloney dead in his home Saturday night after responding to reports of shots fired.

The (Munster) Times reports (http://bit.ly/18juHc7 ) Deloney's death is the third homicide in Gary this year. There were 49 homicides in Gary last year.

Gary police spokesman Sgt. Thomas Decanter says the department's Violent Crime Unit also responded and canvased the area to gather evidence.
