Poe fire chief accused of battery

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Poe Community Volunteer Fire Department chief is facing charges for allegedly pushing a woman into a wall and putting his hands on her throat.

Paul VonBank, 49, is facing a charge of domestic battery. The Journal Gazette reports he was fighting with a woman over a phone Monday morning in the when he pushed her. The victim’s daughter told the woman to run and told police VonBank pushed her mother against a bathroom wall and put his hand’s around the victim’s throat.

The location of the alleged incident is redacted in court documents.

VonBank posted $750 bail Tuesday and was released from the Allen County Jail.

He is due in court on Dec. 21.
