Pet Shop Owner Gets 581 Citations

Animal care and control removed hundreds of animals from inside Fish Bowl Pet Supplies, in Indianapolis Thursday.

According to WISH-TV officials say they issued 581 citations to the owner for poor living conditions, including dirty murky water in fish tanks.

Animal control said some animals were sitting in their own feces and even saw a bird eating dead fish.

More than 200 animals were taken to the Animal Control Center.

The owner, not identified, said he’s been in business 45 years and doesn’t know why this is happening. Currently, the owner’s license is suspended pending a hearing with a judge.
