Pence Visits Bear Run Coal Mine

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WOWO):  Governor Mike Pence has issued a statement following a recent visit to the Bear Run coal mine in Carlisle, Indiana.  In the statement, Pence pledges to stand with Indiana Coal Against Obama Administrations 'War on Coal' and commends the mine employees.

“Indiana is a pro-coal state. Hoosiers know that coal means jobs and coal means low-cost energy. Today, I was privileged to meet with men and women who work day in and day out to supply Indiana with an affordable and reliable source of electricity. I commend their hard work, and I am committed to stand with them against the Obama Administration’s war on coal.  The EPA’s latest proposed carbon dioxide emissions regulations, together with regulations that have preceded it and proposed regulations for new power plant emissions, are bad for Indiana. They will cost Hoosier workers and families in higher electricity rates, lost jobs, and lost business growth due to a lack of affordable, reliable electricity. I will continue to fight against any regulation from Washington, D.C., that makes it more difficult for Indiana to continue to be the state that works.”

Bear Run coal mine is operated by Peabody Energy.
