Pence Attends Son’s Commissioning as Marine Corps Officer

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ Gov. Mike Pence's son is now a Marine Corps officer.
 
Pence and his wife, Karen, attended the ceremony Friday at the Marine Corps base in Quantico, Virginia, during which their son was commissioned as a second lieutenant.
 
The governor's office says 23-year-old Michael J. Pence will be going into the active duty Marines. The younger Pence is a Purdue University graduate who will next go through basic training for officers.
 
The governor said on his office Twitter account that he and his wife were proud of their son joining the men and woman of the U.S. military.


The Pences also have two adult daughters.
