Parents of Threatened Hoosier on NBC’s Today Show

INDIANA (WOWO): The parents of the Indiana native who was threatened with beheading by ISIS, spoke on National News this morning to talk about the fate of their son.

Ed and Paula Kassig appeared on NBC's Today Show on Monday to talk about the many ways they've tried to contact ISIS and bring their son home.

26-year-old Abdul Rahman, formerly known as Peter Kassig converted to Islam while giving aid to Syrian refugees. He was taken captive a year ago and is threatened with beheading. His parents read part of a letter Peter sent to them, saying he's okay, for now.

“Don't worry, Dad. If I go down, I won't go down thinking anything but what I know to be true- that you love me to the moon.”

Kassig grew up in Indianapolis and has a long history of aid work. The terrorist group sent video threats after the US started bombing ISIS.
