Parent Arrested in Attack on Evansville Bus Driver

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) _ Police say a parent has been arrested after climbing aboard an Evansville school bus and attacking the driver.

Police say investigators believe the 35-year-old man was upset about a previous incident between his child and the driver when he confronted the driver Thursday morning.

The bus driver told police he had stopped to pick up some children when the man attacked him and then fled. Officers arrested him about an hour later on preliminary felony charges of battery and trespass.

The Evansville Courier & Press and WFIE-TV report the driver was able to complete the bus route and drop students off at school.
