Organ Donor’s Family Seeks Help to See Her Honored

***UPDATE*** The Indiana Donor Network has found the family transportation. They will be able to attend the parade.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne woman who gave the gift of life will be honored at this year's Rose Bowl parade, but her family may not be able to see it happen.

19-year-old Jennifer Spurgeon died in 2009. Her organs were donated to three people, and she'll have her image on the “Donate Life” float at the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California on New Year's Day. Her mother and sister, Rhonda and Krista Hardbeck, were supposed to be special guests, but they weren't able to fly out of Indianapolis Tuesday because of the travel mess caused by bad weather. Jennifer's mom says she was able to get a flight to Pasadena but it will arrive after the parade:

“She got that honor. She's going to be honored… but we may not be able to be there to see it.”

The Indiana Donor Network is hoping someone will step forward and help Jennifer's family get to Pasadena in time to see the parade.
