One injured after crash involving school bus

HUNTINGTON, Ind. (WOWO): One person was hurt after a head-on crash involving a Huntington County Community School Corporation bus this morning.

According to a press release from HCCSC, the crash happened at about 7:08am when Bus #44 was traveling north on Etna Avenue and a car traveling south lost control, crossed the center line, and hit the bus.

There were two high school students on the bus at the time. Neither they, nor the driver, were hurt. The driver of the car was taken from the scene by ambulance; their condition was not released.

School district Transportation Director Vanessa Fields says “school buses continue to be the safest transportation to and from school. This accident was barely felt by anyone on the bus.”
