One Hoosier has Important Claim to President’s Day

INDIANA, (WOWO): It's President's Day, and one Hoosier has a pretty important claim to the day. John Scott Harrison is the only person in American History who is both the father, and son of a president.

The accomplishment of Presidents William Henry Harrison and Benjamin Harrison were pretty important to America, both serving as war hero's, but John's role is not to be overlooked.

John was born in Vincennes, but his father moved him to Ohio, where it was a bit safer from the War of 1812. Between Indiana and Ohio, John helped run the family farm. Unfortunately, John died just a few years before his son Benjamin become President, but was around for many of his accomplishments in Indiana as a Civil War Hero, and local politician in Indianapolis.
