FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A 14-year-old boy is dead after an early morning shooting on Fort Wayne’s southeast side.

The Fort Wayne Police Department was called to the 5200 block of Lillie Street, a block west of South Anthony Blvd, at about 4:20 a.m. after several residents heard gunshots. Police found a boy lying in the street suffering from “several” gunshot wounds. He was unresponsive and rushed to an area hospital, where he later died.

Authorities have not released the name of the 14-year-old yet.

Police on the scene say they found bullet holes in two nearby houses, and detectives have been interviewing neighbors to find out if anyone saw anything. By mid-day Tuesday, police have not released any suspects or motives, according to 21Alive.

This is the third shooting in the southeast side of town in less than 24 hours, after police responded to shootings on Weisser Park Avenue and Holton Avenue yesterday afternoon.
