Ohio Teen To Be Charged As An Adult In Mercer County Murder Case

MERCER COUNTY,Ohio (WOWO): An Ohio teen facing 27 criminal counts for the deaths of a Mercer County father and daughter will be tried as an adult.

Trevin M. Sanders, 18, of Union City, was 16 when the 2011 killings of Robert and Colleen Grube occurred. The case had been in juvenile court but a judge moved the case to adult court earlier today.

Sander cannot receive the death penalty due to his age at the time the crime occurred.

Bryant Rhodes, 22, was also arrested and charged in connection with the homicides. Charges include kidnapping, aggravated murder, aggravated burglary, and aggravated robbery.

Authorities found the bodies of Robert and Colleen Grube in late November 2011, bound with duct tape and shot, following what appeared to be a robbery of their family farmhouse.
