Ohio Governor Continues to Test Presidential Waters

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP): Ohio Gov. John Kasich plans to appear at a couple Republican events in Georgia next week as he continues to weigh a 2016 bid for president.

The second-term governor has scheduled appearances Tuesday at the Fulton County Republican Party lunch in Sandy Springs, and at a Walton County Republican Party barbecue in Monroe.

Kasich is then expected to head Wednesday to the early primary state of South Carolina, where he will speak to the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce.

The 63-year-old Kasich has said he's seriously considering a presidential run. He has set up a committee to raise money for travel and other related expenses.

He visited California recently to meet with potential benefactors. He's also been making appearances South Carolina and other states.
