INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ An Indiana election official says Election Day is off to a mostly smooth start for voters across most of the state.
Indiana Election Division co-director Brad King says it's been a pretty quiet day aside from a technical glitch that created delays at five of 11 vote centers in southern Indiana's Floyd County.
King says the only other issues have been sporadic reports of some precincts not opening on time during what's turned out to be a rainy Election Day.
Voter turnout had been expected to be low, with no top-tier races on the ballot.
King says there were few voters at the Indianapolis polling place where he voted Tuesday. But he says he's heard anecdotal reports of higher voter turnout at some of Indiana's rural precincts.
