INDIANAPOLIS (WOWO): Three Kosciusko County law enforcement officers are being recognized for a July rescue on Lake Wawasee.

Indiana Conservation Officers Jonathon Boyd and Dustin Whitehead joined Kosciusko County Lake Patrol officer Ken Troutman in receiving an “Award of Commendation” by the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators.

The three men rescued seven people from a sinking boat in July. Only one was wearing a life vest at the time.

Officials say if it wasn't for the quick action of the men, it would have ended in tragedy.
