Nursing Home Administrators Won’t Face Charges

JASPER, Ind. (AP): Criminal charges have been dismissed against two southern Indiana nursing home administrators accused of failing to investigate a patient's abuse.

Dubois County Prosecutor Kevin Crouse filed motions to dismiss misdemeanor charges of failure to report victimization of an endangered adult against Katrina L. Patterson and Sheryl A. Rockett. The Evansville Courier & Press reports that a judge has granted those motions.

Patterson was director of nursing and Rockett was assistant director of nursing at the Providence Home Health Care Center in Jasper when the charges were filed in February 2013.

Four nursing home employees were charged with felony battery and neglect in that case.

Patterson and Rockett had been accused of failing to investigate or report the abuse of a patient with dementia.
