HAMMOND, Ind. (AP) – A northwest Indiana man has been sentenced to 240 years in prison after pleading guilty to production, distribution and possession of child pornography.
The Times reports (http://bit.ly/1RC3weE ) U.S. Attorney David Capp announced 32-year-old Daniel T. Eckstrom of Lake Station pleaded guilty to the charges on Jan. 17 and was sentenced Tuesday.
In a news release, Capp said the production of child pornography charges were based on Eckstrom's “capturing of thousands of images and hundreds of videos'' depicting three minor female victims engaging in sexually explicit conduct.''
Authorities said the investigation into Eckstrom began in Salt Lake City when authorities focused on a person suspected of producing child pornography and distributing it via email.
Prosecutors said Eckstrom was given consecutive terms of 30 years in prison on each of the seven production of child pornography charges.
