Northern Indiana Anodize to create 48 new jobs in Fort Wayne

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A startup aluminum anodizing company has announced plans to invest $6.9-million into a new location on Bluffton Road.

Northern Indiana Anodize will build a 47,000-square-foot facility near the intersection of Bluffton Road and Pleasant Center Road, just off I-469, with construction set to begin in August. By March 29 they plan to be up and running.

Anodizing is a process that increases wear resistance and corrosion protection for aluminum parts by dipping them into multiple chemical baths. NIA plans to use 32-foot tanks to accommodate aluminum parts up to 30 feet in length, serving the automotive, construction, boating, and industrial markets.

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered the company up to $250,000 in conditional tax credits based on the company’s job creation plans. NIA says they’ll create up to 48 new jobs by the end of 2021.
