Nominations Open for Indiana Math, Science Awards

INDIANAPOLIS (AP): The state of Indiana is accepting nominations for its Indiana Mr. and Miss Math and Science honors.
 
       The state Center for Education and Career Innovation says one male and one female student will be selected for the awards. Each will receive a $2,000 Indiana CollegeChoice 529 Direct Savings Plan scholarship contribution. Academic performance in science, math, engineering and technology classes will be considered with extracurricular activities, work or research projects, leadership roles and community service.
 
       Applications for the awards are available at https://secure.in.gov/apps/mathscienceawards/. They will be accepted through 6 p.m. EDT on April 25.  Nominations may be submitted by teachers, schools, community organizations or the students themselves.
 
       The winners will be named in May.
