No reports of major damage due to storms, but flood warnings remain

ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): There have been no reports of major damage due to the severe storms on Sunday, but flood warnings remain in place for the following rivers:

– Wabash River near Bluffton affecting Wells County  

– Wabash River at Wabash affecting Cass, Miami and Wabash Counties  

– Eel River at North Manchester affecting Cass, Kosciusko, Miami, Wabash and Whitley Counties

– Maumee River at Fort Wayne affecting Allen and Paulding Counties  

– Maumee River near Defiance affecting Defiance and Henry Counties  

– Saint Joseph River Ohio above Newville affecting Allen, DeKalb, and Defiance Counties  

– Saint Marys River near Decatur affecting Adams, Allen and Van   Wert Counties  

– North Branch Elkhart River at Cosperville affecting Noble County

Sunday’s severe storms not only hit northeast Indiana, but also northwest Ohio. The recent rain, combined with previous heavy rainfall, has prompted the flood warnings to be extended until further notice.

According to the National Weather Service, there is a slight chance of an afternoon shower or thunderstorm on Memorial Day, but coverage of the storms should be much less than Sunday.

Temperatures will remain seasonably warm and it will be a bit breezy in the afternoon.
