FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Fort Wayne detective who pleaded guilty in his drunk driving case will not spend any time in jail.

36-year-old Brent Roddy was sentenced Monday to a one-year suspended jail term. He’ll also have his license suspended for 90 days and he’ll have to complete the Alcohol Abuse Deterrent Program, according to the Journal-Gazette.

Roddy was off duty on March 27 when he drove his car into a sign, power pole, traffic control box, and a tree on Rothman Road. He took off on foot and was found about a mile away.

He pleaded guilty earlier this month to drunken driving, reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident.
