NIPSCO: Winter Gas Bills to be Lower

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Some area natural gas customers will be paying less this winter.

NIPSCO says the average residential customer will likely pay about 30% less on their winter heating bills due to an abundance of supply. A NIPSCO spokeswoman tells our Partners in News at 21Alive the company has two supply basins to work with, adding they're also offering a payment assistance program in partnership with Brightpoint for those who may be struggling with power costs.

Last year, the average gas customer spent almost $500 on winter heating bills. This year they're expected to spend about $345.
