New Haven Police searching for vehicle theft suspect

NEW HAVEN, Ind. (WOWO) – New Haven Police are searching for a man suspected of stealing from a parked vehicle on Friday, August 31 in New Haven.

Police were called to Continental Diamond Tool, 10500 Rose Avenue, on reports to a theft from a vehicle.

Security cameras show a white or silver 4-door hatchback enter the parking lot around 9:43 a.m.

A black man got out of the vehicle and began attempting to open the doors of several vehicles in the area. Cameras show him entering one of the vehicles and removing a black backpack which contained several college textbooks.

He then left the parking lot at approximately 9:48 a.m.

The suspect’s vehicle is described as having a spare tire on the driver side rear and a large dent on the rear driver side door.
