FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The mother of a 3-year-old Bluffton boy is facing charges, along with her boyfriend, after the child's body was found over the weekend.

State officials have asked for an additional 72 hours to determine charges for 21-year-old Breanna Arnold and 30-year-old Zachary Barnes, both of Bluffton. According to our partners in news at 21 Alive, Arnold and Barns, made their first court appearances Tuesday afternoon and face charges in the death of Arnold's 3-year-old son, Owen Collins.

An autopsy is being conducted on the child after his body was found in a wooded area in Wells County.

Court documents released say Barns admitted to putting “dope” into Owen's bottle. According to reports, Barnes also admitted that the 3-year-old had died Friday night and that the couple decided to saran wrap his body and put him in a bedroom dresser  until later deciding to put Owen inside a box, with the help of Barnes' 16-year old friend.
