National group plans protest in Fort Wayne

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A protest is planned on the Allen County Courthouse Lawn today, in response to the resignation of US Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

A national group called “Trump is Not Above the Law” says Sessions’ resignation, which came at President Donald Trump’s request, has triggered their so-called “Mueller Protection Rapid Response.”

Hundreds of demonstrations are planned across the country to demand Sessions’ replacement – Matthew Whitaker – recuse himself, and to urge Congress to protect the probe into alleged collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign to meddle with the 2016 Presidential election.

“Now that Jeff Sessions has been fired and his Trump-loyalist replacement has been put in charge of the investigation, the red line has been crossed and we are protesting,” the group’s website says.

The Fort Wayne demonstration is set for 5pm on the Allen County Courthouse lawn.

Great, more empty protests. I wonder who is funding this group. Trump should have fired Sessions as soon as he recused himself. I would protest their protest, but I work for a living.

Ummm, maybe I’m just not that bright, but doesn’t the attorney general serve at the president’s pleasure?
