Narcotics Investigation at a Home on S. Lafayette Street

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Friday afternoon Fort Wayne police and several drug teams severed a search warrant at a home on S. Lafayette Street that led to the discovery of numerous drug-related items.

Police found 49-year-old Andres Barnett along with a five-year-old girl inside the home. Also numerous items of paraphernalia for smoking marijuana, cocaine and also scales for measuring cocaine were found.

Barnett was arrested.

During the search a car pulled up to the residence and was also detained. The driver, 44-year-old Ronald Sanders was found to be in possession of cocaine, marijuana and paraphernalia and was arrested for possession of those items. Also in the vehicle was Michael Thomas. He was arrested for Maintaining a Common Nuisance and Possession of Paraphernalia. Both men were transported to jail without incident.

The five-year-old girl was released to her mother when she made the scene and several dogs that had been locked in the garage without heat and food were handed over to Fort Wayne Animal Control Units

In the meantime, the investigation is still ongoing.
