Murder suspect, Joseph Kast, is now claiming he saw demons…

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) _ An Indiana man on trial in the slaying of an 85-year-old Fort Wayne man allegedly told investigators that he saw demonic faces and had telepathic abilities.

The detective who interviewed Joseph Kast following the stabbing death of Claude Berkshire testified Tuesday during Kast’s murder trial in Allen County Court.

The Journal Gazette reports that 35-year-old Kast’s mental condition has been an issue since he was arrested in 2002. His trial was delayed for several months after a judge ruled that he was incompetent to stand trial, but in July, mental health experts said that Kast was able to assist in his own defense despite his mental illness.

Kast allegedly confessed while he was in prison for another murder that was committed a few days after Berkshire’s death.
