Muncie Woman Sentenced to 100 Years for Molesting

MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) – A Muncie woman has been sentenced to 100 years in prison for molesting a six-month-old girl while staying at the apartment of the baby's mother.

Twenty-four-year-old Ashley Lynn Stapert said nothing during Thursday's Delaware County court hearing and told her attorney not to make any arguments on her behalf. A jury found her guilty last month of child molesting for the November 2011 attacks that also involved Stapert's then-boyfriend.

The Star Press reports (http://tspne.ws/1vPnWTC ) deputy prosecutor Zachary Craig called Stapert was a predator who deserved the maximum sentence.

Stapert's former boyfriend, 25-year-old Bryan Strickler of Streetsboro, Ohio, was sentenced last year to 100 years in prison for his role in the molesting.
