Muncie NAACP President Charged with Selling Cocaine

MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) – The president of the Muncie chapter of the NAACP has been charged with selling cocaine.

The Star Press reports (http://tspne.ws/1HrGxje ) 49-year-old Timothy Wade Miles was arrested Wednesday after allegedly selling cocaine three times to an informant for the Delaware County Sheriff's Drug Unit.

Police say Miles later admitted selling cocaine to raise funds to pay court-ordered child support. Police say he told authorities he routinely bought cocaine for $1,250 an ounce and sold it for twice that.

Miles could not be reached for comment because his telephone number was not listed. Court records did not indicate whether he has hired an attorney.

Muncie Indiana Transit Systems General Manager Larry King said Miles has been suspended from his job as assistant director of transportation pending the outcome of the case.
