Muncie Man Charged with Murder Rescinds Speedy Trial Request

MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) – A 33-year-old Muncie man charged with murder in the 2009 stabbing death of a mother of four has changed his mind about wanting a speedy trial.

The Star Press reports Danny Lee Saintignon Junior filed a motion Friday withdrawing his request for a “fast and speedy trial.'' Delaware Circuit Judge Linda Ralu Wolf had granted his request for the speedy trial April 6 and scheduled his trial for June 1 in the death of 35-year-old Monica Brown. Authorities allege he was trying to rob her of prescription medications.

Wolf will hear Saintignon's request to withdraw the speedy trial motion on Wednesday.

Saintignon is serving a 23-year prison term imposed last year for his role in a 2013 armed invasion of an apartment.
