Mourners Honor Slain Indianapolis Police Officer

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ Mourners have honored an Indianapolis police officer who authorities say was killed by her ex-husband.

A row of officers in dress uniforms saluted Wednesday morning as Officer Kimberlee Carmack's flag-draped casket was carried into Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral.

Investigators say Sgt. Ryan Anders shot the 45-year-old officer on Thursday after breaking into her home. He then killed himself.

The couple divorced in October.

Carmack was a 20-year veteran of the police force and her son is also an officer.

Officials say Anders' funeral set for Thursday isn't considered an official police service.
