Mostella Appears in Court for Adjustment Hearing

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A former teacher who pleaded guilty to sex with a student made an appearance in court Tuesday.
Paige Mostella appeared for an adjustment hearing.

The court was concerned that she hadn't obtained approved housing – as required under terms of her probation. Mostella's attorney Thomas Essex told WOWO News, there is no violation and she is fully compliant with the terms of her suspended sentence.

Earlier this month she was given three years probation as part of a plea deal. In that agreement she pleaded guilty to having sex with the student.
She was facing as much as three-years in prison on each of two counts of child seduction.

Mostella was arrested during the summer of 2014 for having sex with a 17-year-old student while she was a  special education teacher and track coach at Woodlan High School in Woodburn.

The age of consent is 16 in Indiana, but it's illegal for a person in authority to engage in sexual conduct with a minor
