More than 1,000 people expected at Fort Wayne March for Life

Tomorrow, Saturday, January 19th, more than one thousand marchers are expected to gather at the University of Saint Francis Performing Arts Center for a noon rally, followed by the March for Life.


This is the 39th annual Fort Wayne March for Life that marks the 40th anniversary of the Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion in 1973.


Event: Rally and 39th Annual March for Life

Who: More than one thousand area citizens are expected to participate in the rally and March for Life. The rally’s keynote speaker is Dr. James I. Lamb, Executive Director of national Lutherans for Life. Other participants include Cathie Humbarger, event organizer and Executive Director of Allen County Right to Life; clergy of Shepherds United; and representatives from “Silent No More,” the awareness campaign for post-abortive women.

Where: Rally at University of Saint Francis (USF) Performing Arts Center (formerly the Scottish Rite) at 431 W. Berry St., Fort Wayne, Ind. The March for Life begins at the USF Performing Arts Center, and takes Ewing, Webster, Wayne and Calhoun streets and Douglas Avenue to conclude outside the E. Ross Adair Federal Building, located at 1300 South Harrison St., Fort Wayne, Ind. 

When: January 19, 2013: the rally begins at 12:00 p.m. with the March for Life following. All events are expected to conclude by 2:00 p.m.
