More Indiana Electronic Highway Signs to Show Travel Times

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – The state highway department has started using four electronic message boards along Indiana interstates to display estimated travel time to upcoming locations.

Agency officials say those travel time displays are being tested as officials consider adding such information to more of its 60 electronic signs around the state.

The signs showing the travel times are on southbound I-65 near Jeffersonville, northbound I-69 just north of Indianapolis and northbound and southbound I-69 near Fort Wayne. They will display travel times when not showing messages about crashes or road conditions.

Travel time estimates are now displayed on 26 traditional highway interchange signs around the state.
