MLK Bridge Turned Gold For Awareness

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry has declared September Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

In a proclamation at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Bridge, the mayor called for donations to help combat childhood cancer. He was accompanied by the organization “Jada's Journey,” named after Jada Tracey, a 10-year old who died in 2011 from cancer. Our partners in news at 21 Alive says the founder of the organization, Sara Tracey was on hand and thrilled that Fort Wayne has joined major cities by turning their city 'gold' to raise awareness. Over the past few nights, the MLK Bridge has turned the bridge lights gold in support of the cause.
