Missing IU Student’s Parents Want Lawsuit Sealed

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – The parents of a missing Indiana University student have asked a federal judge to seal some of the evidence in their lawsuit against two men over her disappearance.

The parents of Lauren Spierer filed the request in federal court in Indianapolis. The 20-year-old Greenburgh, N.Y., native disappeared in June 2011 after a night of partying with friends in Bloomington.

The Indianapolis Star reports the motion seeks to seal “sensitive and private information” so it doesn't impede the investigation into Spierer's disappearance.

The Spierers have sued former IU students Jason Rosenbaum and Corey Rossman, alleging negligence for giving alcohol to someone who already was intoxicated.

Attorneys for Rossman and Rosenbaum had no comment Thursday, but have argued they weren't responsible for the safety of an adult.
