Missing Elderly Indiana Couple Found Driving Wrong Way

TIPTON, Ind. (AP) _ An elderly couple who vanished from their central Indiana home was found by police 40 miles away driving the wrong way on an interstate.

The Tipton County couple had been missing for nearly 12 hours when a state trooper spotted them early Thursday driving northbound in Interstate 465's southbound lanes on Indianapolis' southeast side.

The couple, who are in their 80s, was speeding in the rain about 2 a.m. Thursday when the trooper pulled them over. The pair appeared in good shape and he took them in his patrol car to a police post where their daughter later picked them up.

Joan Bartley-Lynch tells WTHR-TV (http://bit.ly/1MmeFKH ) she can't “express the words of how glad'' she is that her parents were found in good shape after many hours of worry.
