Mishawaka Slaying

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) – A judge has found a Mishawaka man guilty of murder in the slaying of his estranged wife.

St. Joseph Superior Court Judge John Marnocha ruled Wednesday in the bench trial of 49-year-old Tarrance Lee following the August slaying of 44-year-old Trina Winston.

Testimony during the trial indicated Lee disposed of Winston’s body in Chicago after he strangled her Aug. 16. She had filed for divorce June 19.

WSBT-TV reports Lee faces 45 to 65 years in prison when Marnocha sentences him Dec. 21.

Indiana Department of Correction records indicate Lee was released from prison in February 2008 after he was given three 40-year sentences for two 1987 murder convictions and a 1986 attempted murder conviction.
