Minimize Skin Cancer Risk, Limit Exposure to Sun, Tanning Beds

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): As you get ready to enjoy the summer sun, don't forget, skin cancer is a serious danger.

In fact, skin cancer is the most common form of cancer. The more exposure to sunlight or a tanning beds – the higher your risk. No matter what your age, limit your exposure. Here are some tips to make your time safer and more fun.

If you are going to be out, spend as much time in the shade as you can. Make sure to wear appropriate clothing, like hats and sunscreen with of SPF 15 for shorter time outside, and SPF 30 for more extended activity and re apply about every two hours.

Do not expose infants younger than six months to the sun, in any case.
