Michigan Man Plans Journey To Mosques In All 50 States

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (AP) _ A Michigan marketing executive plans to visit mosques in all 50 states and help chronicle the stories of Muslim communities along the way.

The Detroit News reports 40-year-old Jameel Syed officially launches the effort Friday at the Islamic Society of North America in Plainfield, Indiana.

Syed is from the Detroit suburb of Auburn Hills and says the goal is to “have an opportunity to humanize Muslims living in America and all over the world.'' He plans to return in May to his home mosque, the Islamic Association of Greater Detroit in Rochester Hills.

Syed, founder and CEO of the Fluidvisions marketing firm in Rochester Hills, says he's has been planning the trip for months. He plans to film a short video at each mosque as part of the effort.
