Michael Fabini Pleads Guilty, Facing 14 Years in Federal Prison

ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): Wednesday afternoon, Michael Fabini pleaded guilty during a hearing, officially bringing an end to one of the area’s largest drug trafficking conspiracies.

Last month, as part of a plea deal, 35-year-old Fabini filed a guilty plea in U.S. District Court, admitting to two counts of a 44-count indictment pending against him, accusing him of maintaining a drug stash house in Fort Wayne.

According to the Journal Gazette, during a hearing Wednesday, Fabini pleaded guilty to one of the multiple drug trafficking conspiracy charges and a count of engaging in a monetary transaction in property derived from drug trafficking. Fabini faces 14 years in federal prison.

In October,  his co-defendant Marshall Butler pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court.  Butler ran one of the stash houses for a marijuana distribution ring run by Fabini.

The two were the subjects of a federal indictment unsealed in February 2013. Court documents tied them to Matthew McChesney, now serving 27 years in federal prison for drug trafficking.

The indictments came in December 2012, after federal agents raided Fabini’s home in the Cherry Hill subdivision.
