Meth Lab Registration Bill Signed Into Law

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WOWO): A bill that addresses properties that have been affected by methamphetamine, was signed into law Tuesday afternoon by Governor Mike Pence.

The bill will provide Hoosiers with more information about whether or not a home has been a site where methamphetamine was either manufactured or dumped.

Prospective home buyers should have all the facts before they choose a home,” said co-author of the bill, State Representative Dave Ober of Albion. “This law provides new consumer protections so Hoosier homebuyers know what they are getting before they sign on the dotted line.”

The information will be maintained by the Indiana State Police on a website that will list all properties that have been in contact with meth, even those that are already taken off of the public list.

“Hoosiers deserve the peace of mind knowing that their home was properly decontaminated and now safe for their family,” said Representative Ober.
